Hiking

Being close to woods and fields

When visiting Ueckermünde, make sure you do not miss out enjoying the varied and abundant nature. A steadily growing network of cycling and hiking routes is available and comprises more than 32 km within the municipal borders alone. Signposts in different colours mark the routes clearly.

Hiking and cycling

Do not leave your bicycles at home when planning your holidays in Ueckermünde. A fully developed network of cycling routes through woods and fields and meadows will make your trips become a memorable experience of nature's beauty. With a bit of luck you could also watch game.

The cycling routes are clearly marked

The cycling routes are clearly marked and you may choose between shorter and longer distances which also gives smaller children the chance to go on a trip with you.

You will find nice restaurants when cycling or may stop for a picnic at well-kept picnic areas.

"August Bartelt" nature trail

We particularly recommend the "August Bartelt" nature trail, named after a natural scientist of our town, who was also passionately interested in local history and culture. This hiking and cycling trail can be reached via the zoo or via Liepgarten. Or you follow Chausseestraße road out of town till you cross the trail. It will make you find rare species of trees and copse and also provides information boards and illustrated charts referring to fauna and flora.
